I really enjoyed my stay in this magical country! I felt really at home with daddy always joking in front of me during dinner, little tall brother who mimics the best moment of the latest football match, a little pretty and discreet sister who I always wanted and of course a perfect mummy always here for you, to speak to, to listen to you and who prepares amazing meals. Thank you for all this attention and all the good fun! I felt safe and welcome at all times and will never forget the beautiful time with you in Malta! Anais

Dear Stefie, Thanks a lot to you and your family, My stay at Looza Residence was so pleasant, everytime as I came back from Mater Dei hospital or other nice trips I felt like I was coming home. I hope to come back to Malta soon and I know where I will stay now! Looza Residence was really a home away from home for me. Anna, Medical placement student

Nothing was ever any trouble whenever I asked you for help and you have made my stay so enjoyable and worry free. I will miss you all including my flatmates when I go back home and I hope to come back soon to see you all! Anne- Internship student from France

I visited the island of Malta in order to take an English language course with my father in September. We stayed in a spacious double apartment in the Meeker family house. It was a great time with many interesting dinners, where we were able to use our new language skills in informal get-togethers. Sebastian Germany – English language student

Good luck Steffie, Georges and the kids! It’s a lovely house, lovely people and great food. I have stayed for 3 months with this family and I found it delicious. I was sorry to leave the house, because it feels like a second home. Good luck Steffie, Georges and the kids! Rosa Heemskerk, Nederlands – English Language Student

I can recommend Looza Residence
to all students doing a Medical Elective in Mater Dei Hospital in Malta
. You will not only practice your English and be well looked after, but also you will also live right around the corner from the hospital. It is within 5 minutes walking distance which is an advantage that can not be underestimated in a country with a quite Mediterranean public transport system. Riding a bike in Malta is unfortunately too dangerous on the roads here. In conclusion, I can say that I spent here a really nice time: both in the host family accommodation of the Meekers and in the hospital. Matthias Lemke, Germany, Medical Intern

On my first day in Malta I felt a culture shock in a country that I didn’t know and lost without my family. However the Meekers family knew how to welcome me and put my mind at ease. They helped me with all the questions and difficulties I had at the beginning of my stay. I fell in love with this little Island, with its people, culture and its charm. This internship in Malta has helped me to mature and to discover lots of beautiful places and beautiful persons. From time to time I have to return to my little beautiful sunny Island! Thank you so much for the enjoyable time, for your kindness and for helping me to improve my English. I appreciate our conversations about daily routine and interesting subjects. It will surely help me in my job and I hope to keep on improving. Thank you for all! Karin – English language student

I would like to thank you for all of the kindness and generosity you have shown us over the past 4 weeks. We really appreciate how welcome you made us feel in your home. The Maltese evening with rabbit cooked Maltese style was one of the highlights of our trip and we certainly know where to go to get some nice Maltese wines! We are sorry to be leaving but the memories of our time here will stick with us. Hope to be back in Malta sometime soon (working or on holiday maybe!) We hope to see you again soon!

I stayed at the Looza Student Residence for 8 weeks and I can say it was a great stay! From the very beginning, Stefie made sure everything was perfect with the bedroom, the kitchen, etc… The terrace is also lovely when it’s sunny outside, you can have a beer, sit down and just relax. There is nothing more to say except that I enjoyed so much my time at Looza with the Meekers and that this family is great and very helpful. For those 8 weeks, I felt at home. So if you go to the sunny island of Malta, make sure you stay at Looza! Thanks again for everything Stefie!!
Guest renting a room on self-catering basis
I had a great stay here, Stefie is very friendly and most helpful. I was made to feel very comfortable straight away. The sun terrace gets the sun throughout the day until the early evening and the refurbished kitchen has all the basics you need to cook with a gas hob, microwave, crisper etc. Imsida is about 10-15 min walk, but there is a Lidl supermarket 5-10mins walk away together with a few other shops and eateries and bus stops to sliema / Valletta are also a short walk away. The property is spotless and is in a nice and quiet area. There is very little traffic as it is away from the main roads. My room had Air con and the overall cost per night was a fair bit less than estimated. Safe to say I would definitely stay here again !
